Cure Leukaemia Art Auction 2010

Cure Leukaemia is a charity based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham that supports the treatment of and research into Leukaemia and the patient environment. Now in it’s fifth year of fund-raising, the Art Auction is going from strength to strength in supporting the art programme at the Centre for Clinical Haematology in Birmingham and contributes funds towards research and specialist equipment, benefiting both patients and staff in the most profound way possible. Over the last four years the charity has raised approximately £61,000 via the generous support of artists donating work to the auction.

The Visual For Business Catalogue 2009/2010

This afternoon I visited the Arts & Business office in Manchester to deliver my work for the forthcoming Visual For Business group art exhibition at Salford Business School. The exhibition is being installed tomorrow and will run for six weeks until June. A selection panel consisting of over twenty members of staff at Salford university looked through over 200 pieces of artwork to consider for this exhibition. I have three framed photographs featured in the exhibition (‘Aloha From Blackpool’, ‘Starlings Above South Pier’ and ‘The Wave’) and I think they represent a nice selection of photographs from my personal and commissioned portfolio.

Visual Exhibition At Nutmeg House In London

‘Illumination Restoration’ as featured in the forthcoming Visual exhibition at Nutmeg House in London.

This new in-house exhibition at Nutmeg House in London was selected from the Visual For Business collection by Arts & Business staff in the North West, the South West, the South East and the Midlands. Each region also put forward one ‘signature piece’ for staff vote across the country to be displayed behind the reception desk. The artwork with the most votes was Nigel Jackson’s piece ‘In the Presence of Absence’.

Arts & Business: Invest In Art Seminar

Last year I was selected as one of the North West based artists for Visual For Business (a service from Arts & Business) and later this month I’ll be exhibiting a selection of my photographs at the ‘Arts & Business: Invest In Art’ seminar alongside seven fellow artists from the North West. The seminar will take place at City Inn, Manchester on the 22nd June 2009 (artworks on show until 26th June 2009).
