St Annes Kite Festival

St Annes Kite Festival 2014 - Photography By Yannick Dixon

The skies above St Annes seafront were filled with bright colours this weekend as spectacular display kites took to the air in celebration of St Annes Kite Festival.

Visitors of all ages packed the beach to enjoy kites of all shapes, sizes and colours during this superb two-day event which was blessed with beautiful sunny weather and, thankfully, enough wind to fly a kite.

Each day I spent a few hours photographing the kite festival and recording ambient sound for those of you who missed St Annes Kite Festival or are thinking of coming next year.

Glastonbury Festival 2014

Glastonbury Festival 2014

Glastonbury Festival needs no introduction. Everyone has heard of Glastonbury and everyone wants a ticket. Nobody wants to miss out on the chance to spend five hedonistic days partying, come rain or mud, on the famous Worthy Farm.

Glastonbury Festival 2014 sold out in record time (one hour and twenty-seven minutes if you must know) back in October 2013.

With more than a million people registered for the festival and only 120,000 tickets available, I’d say I was lucky to get my hands on a ticket.

I decided to take my compact camera rather than my DSLR so I could balance shooting some photography with the freedom to let loose and enjoy the festival.

Aerial Photographs of Blackpool

Photograph of The View From The Blackpool Tower Eye

Are you looking for truly breathtaking views of Blackpool and the Fylde coastline?

Unless you want to splash the cash on a helicopter, I recommend you pay a visit to the magnificent Blackpool Tower Eye and experience it’s solid-glass SkyWalk.

Yes, you may have to overcome the dizzying 300ft drop below, but believe me it’s more than worth the entry fee.

If you can’t stand heights, but still want to see the view, let me share with you these aerial photographs of Blackpool that I took from Blackpool Tower Eye.
