Showzam! Presents Circus Town

Circolombia At Blackpool Tower Circus - Showzam! Photography By Yannick Dixon

Do you remember the utter thrill and excitement of going to the circus? It truly is a wonderful feeling and, thanks to Showzam! 2015, we’ve just had five spectacular days of the finest international circus and street performances to relish and enjoy in Blackpool.

Showzam! Presents Circus Town was a cultural and artistic programme held at several iconic venues in Blackpool (including Blackpool Winter Gardens, The Blackpool Tower Ballroom, Circus and the town centre) that was lovingly brought together by LeftCoast, VisitBlackpool and SeaChange Arts.

Now in its 8th year, Showzam! attracts thousands of visitors to Blackpool and every year it just seems to get bigger and better.

As The World Tipped - Photography By Yannick Dixon For LeftCoast Blackpool

LeftCoast is a one of twenty-one Creative People and Places programmes supported by Arts Council England that is delivering a pioneering programme of arts and cultural activity across Blackpool and Wyre which aims to enrich the lives of those who live, work and visit here.

As part of it’s cultural arts programme, LeftCoast in partnership with Without Walls Associate Touring Network hosted the breath-taking As The World Tipped by Wired Aerial Theatre at Blackpool Cricket Club. A truly powerful piece of world-class aerial theatre it really is great that LeftCoast brought this to Blackpool and offered it as a free event for all of Blackpool to enjoy.

I was commissioned by LeftCoast as their photographer for the Saturday performance of As The World Tipped and was hired to create an image gallery to show both audiences arriving at the Cricket Club on the night, the pre-show entertainment and As The World Tipped itself.
