Walls Have Voices Photography And Book

Walls Have Voices Photography And Book

Walls Have Voices is an anthology of specially commissioned new writing by local Blackpool writers that was created through a series of site-specific writing workshops exploring the ‘off the beaten track’ built heritage of the town.

The writers visited the Grundy Art Gallery, Central Library, the Grand Theatre and Layton Cemetery with their mentors Eleanor Rees and Zoe Lambert and took part in writing tasks that ignited imaginative reactions to place, explored how we can apply language to the physical environment to see it anew and how society thinks about the value of public space.

Beacon Fell Country Park

Beacon Fell Country Park

Beacon Fell Country Park is situated on the edge of the Forest of Bowland Area and is an ideal location for a picnic and a spot of photography. Various people have suggested that I visit Beacon Fell over the years and I thought it was about time I went and had a look for myself. Its a lovely place to go for a wander and the light coming through the coniferous woodland in the early afternoon was simply beautiful.

BLESMA Residents

Monochrome portrait of BLESMA resident Christina Ramsden

BLESMA is a national charity for limbless serving and ex service men and women and their dependants and widows. I often pass-by on my way to work and I’ve always thought it’d be great to shoot a photography project there to show my support. It’s important to be reminded of these people in our society and to celebrate who they are and what they represent.

SPM Creative Product Photography

SPM Creative Photography Commission

Last week I spent a day in my home photography studio shooting promotional product photography for local graphic designer Simon Moore who runs graphic design business SPM Creative in Lytham St. Annes. We were introduced to each another by our mutual friend Robert Lomas who I recently worked with on the brand identity for my photography business (thanks Rob!). Simon needed crisp, clean images of business cards, postcards, leaflets, posters and menus that he’d designed for his own clients for use on his website.
