Art Bed & Breakfast

Art Bed & Breakfast will be a traditional Blackpool B&B re-imagined for 21st Century by artists as a space for exhibiting, developing and staging artists’ work while also functioning as a small hotel for paying guests.

I was commissioned by LeftCoast to document the artists first impressions of Art Bed & Breakfast in the form of still photographs and video interviews. As the project is still in development, with artists still to be commissioned, I’ve featured a “sneak peek” here which will be updated at the appropriate time.

Supported by LeftCoast, Arts Council England, Clore Duffield and Blackpool Council, this experiment aims to develop a sustainable, scalable business model to fund ongoing creative activities for the local community. If successful, there’s every chance of expanding to refurbish more of Blackpool’s 4000 B&Bs.
