Jake Shakeshaft Rocks Blackpool

Jake Shakeshaft Photo Shoot - Photography By Yannick Dixon

Do you watch BBC One’s popular Saturday night singing competition The Voice UK? If you do, I’m sure you’ll instantly recognise Jake Shakeshaft, a wonderfully talented 19 year old singer, who wooed and won over the judges with his passionate performance of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Thinking Out Loud’ at the blind auditions.

After impressing the likes of Will.i.am, Tom Jones, Rita Ora and Ricky Wilson (as well as TV viewers across the country) Jake’s appearance on The Voice UK has created a real buzz and excitement online. With nearly three million views of Jake’s audition on YouTube, thousands of Facebook likes and a growing Twitter following (not to mention a number of adoring fan accounts) this young singer is clearly in demand and a favourite to make it to the finals of the competition.

Ross & Rachel’s Wedding Collection

Ross and Rachel Parker Wedding Photography

Today I’m pleased to present to you a selection of photographs commissioned to celebrate the wedding of my friends Ross and Rachel.

I’ve known Ross since our university days studying BA (Hons) Photography in Blackpool, so I was both delighted and honoured to be chosen as his wedding photographer.

Their wedding ceremony took place at St. Bede’s RC Church in Durham followed by the reception at the Hallgarth Hotel & Country Club in Darlington on the 4th May 2013. You should know that Ross is a very successful freelance wedding photographer himself (check out his website here), so there was a tad more pressure than I usually feel when photographing a wedding.

Médina of Marrakech

Médina of Marrakech

Earlier this month I travelled to Marrakech with my family to celebrate my Mum’s 50th birthday. Despite a small glitch with the flight being cancelled at Manchester airport (due to Spanish air traffic controllers going on strike)

We had the choice to either cancel the trip entirely or get ourselves to Gatwick airport and fly at 7am in the following morning. Thankfully, we choose the latter and spent the following three days having the best time in the Médina of Marrakech.
